Background
WASTE Advisers promotes sustainable waste management and circular economy solutions in Malawi through recycling, composting, and upcycling innovations. The organization transforms organic and plastic waste into valuable products such as compost, Bicycles, BSF (Black Soldier Fly) feed, and recycled materials. To increase visibility, strengthen customer relations, and grow product sales, WASTE Advisers seeks an energetic Marketing Officer to lead both digital and outdoor sales marketing efforts that connect sustainability with practical market solutions.

Purpose of the Assignment
The Marketing Officer will design and implement innovative marketing and sales strategies both online and, in the field, to increase visibility, expand customer reach, and boost uptake of WASTE Advisers’ sustainable products and services.

3. Key Responsibilities

B. Outdoor and Field Sales Marketing
-
Lead on-ground sales campaigns, product demonstrations, and community marketing activations.

Identify and engage potential retail outlets
-
Build and maintain relationships with customers, distributors, and resellers to expand market coverage.

Conduct door-to-door and field sales visits.
-
Gather customer feedback and sales data to inform marketing strategies and product development.
-
Develop sales plans and performance reports, including weekly and monthly field sales summaries.

Represent WASTE Advisers exhibition events

4. Expected Deliverables

Comprehensive annual marketing and sales plan.
-
Monthly social media, sales, and outreach reports.
-
Quarterly marketing performance report with measurable outcomes.

Sales growth and new customer acquisition targets achieved.

Marketing and visibility materials developed and disseminated.

5. Qualifications and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
-
At least 2–3 years of experience in marketing and outdoor sales, preferably in agriculture, recycling, or sustainability sectors.
-
Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and sales strategies.
-
Excellent communication, customer engagement, and negotiation skills.
-
Ability to work independently and conduct field marketing in diverse communities.
-
Experience with NGOs, social enterprises, or circular economy initiatives is an added advantage.
